A sensory journey along the Brittany coast

Brittany is a region where every seascape tells a story. Its cliffs, beaches and bays invite you to explore raw nature, punctuated by cultural and gastronomic discoveries. Whether you're a hiking enthusiast, a lover of the sea or in search of absolute relaxation, Brittany's coastline is sure to meet your expectations.

The Pink Granite Coast: a unique natural landscape

One of the jewels of the Brittany coastline is undoubtedly the Côte de Granit Rose. Located in the Côtes-d'Armor region of Brittany, it takes its name from the imposing rocks that rise up from it, tinted in shades of pink, ochre and orange. This impressive landscape, shaped by millennia of marine erosion, is ideal for photographers and hikers alike. The “sentier des douaniers” (GR34), one of France's most famous trails, runs along this coastline, offering breathtaking views of the Iroise Sea.

In addition to the region's natural beauty and small seaside resorts, you can also discover the Sept-Îles archipelago. This nature reserve, home to colonies of seabirds, is a must for wildlife lovers.

The Crozon Peninsula: between land and sea

Another of Brittany's leading coastal destinations, the Crozon peninsula is a haven of peace for visitors in search of authenticity and unspoilt scenery. Situated in the heart of the Armorique Regional Nature Park, this peninsula boasts steep cliffs and secret beaches. Nature lovers and hikers will appreciate the many coastal paths, including the one leading to Pointe de Pen-Hir, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Tas de Pois. While staying on the peninsula, you can discover the richness of Brittany's cultural heritage, with visits to ancient chapels and mysterious megaliths.

A lively coastline of fishing villages and seaside resorts

The Brittany coast is renowned not only for its wild nature, but also for its maritime history and charming fishing villages. Each port has its own soul, a unique atmosphere where tradition and modernity blend harmoniously.

Ports of Finistère: ocean treasures

Finistère is the westernmost department of Brittany, and its fishing ports, such as Douarnenez, Audierne, and Concarneau, are true gems. While strolling through these villages, you will discover quays lined with colorful houses and boats ready to set sail for a new fishing adventure. Douarnenez, for example, is famous for its boat museum, which traces the maritime history of the region. Food lovers will not miss the opportunity to taste local specialties made from fish and seafood, accompanied by a glass of cider.

Concarneau, with its walled fortified town, is also an unmissable stop. Behind its ramparts lie cobbled streets where you can happily get lost among artisan shops and typical restaurants.

The Domaine de la Bretesche: A jewel of Brittany heritage

For visitors seeking an exceptional stay in Brittany, the Domaine de la Bretesche, classified as a Relais & Châteaux, offers a bucolic setting. This prestigious establishment is nestled in the heart of a 200-hectare estate, surrounded by forests and lakes, located close to the Brittany coast. The Domaine de la Bretesche, with its towers and majestic façades, is a true architectural gem that immerses guests in a timeless atmosphere, where French refinement reigns supreme.

Water Sports and Maritime Adventures

The Brittany coast is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. Whether you’re passionate about sailing, surfing, diving, or kayaking, the region provides perfect conditions for these activities. Brittany is also the birthplace of many famous sailors, and its coasts offer numerous renowned spots for sailing, especially in the Gulf of Morbihan and around the Glénan archipelago. The crystal-clear waters of this archipelago, often compared to the Caribbean, are ideal for scuba diving or a day of sailing.

For the more adventurous, exploring the islands, such as Belle-Île-en-Mer, Ouessant, or Groix, is an experience not to be missed. These islands, true havens of peace, offer breathtaking landscapes and a total immersion in nature.

Domaine de la Bretesche, a luxury retreat in the Breton hinterland…

Our 5-star hotel boasts a perfect location for exploring the charms of the region. But before setting out, one is naturally tempted to surrender to the pleasure of simply enjoying the estate… From the moment you pass through its imposing wrought-iron gates, you are struck by the beauty of the surroundings. First, by the omnipresent nature — centuries-old oak forests, expansive lawns, and picturesque groves.

The beauty of the 15th-century château comes next, its reflection shimmering across a vast, tranquil lake. And upon reaching the hotel, one can admire its elegant buildings of pale stone accented with touches of red brick.

Across our 200-hectare estate, visitors are free to choose at their leisure: a detour to the Cinq Mondes & Omnisens Spa (14-metre pool, sauna, herbal tearoom), an 18-hole golf course winding through the grounds between lake and forest, or a bike ride to the ornamental kitchen garden, home to farm animals in the warmer months.

And whenever they wish, our guests can be tempted by an excursion through Brittany, just moments from the hotel.
